The Youth Gatherings bring students together with renowned scientists, policy makers, and other world leaders to discuss the roles of empathy and compassion in their lives and in the world. Young people are presented with cutting-edge research on these qualities, and leave with concrete tools for cultivating empathy and compassion in their daily lives. At the most recent Gathering, more than 200 students met in Oslo with presenters including Stanford University neurosurgeon James Doty, mental health professor Paul Gilbert, and human rights activist Scilla Elworthy.
