Advisors to the Tenin Gyatso Scholars Program
To guide the development and implementation of the Scholars Program, an Advisory Council has been established under the leadership of Professor Samdhong Rinpoche, Prime Minister of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile, an extremely distinguished scholar who, for a number of years, was director of the Central Institute for Higher Tibetan Studies in Varanasi.

The members of the Advisory Council are, alphabetically:

Georges Dreyfus, PhD, Professor of Religion, Williams College and the first westerner to obtain the degree of Geshe Lharampa

Jay Garfield, PhD, Professor of Philosophy, Smith College and Director of the Fives Colleges Program.

Geshe Thupten Jinpa, PhD, President of the Institute of Tibetan Classics and principal English translator to His Holiness the Dalai Lama

Geshe Lhakdor, Director of the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives in Dharamsala, India

Elizabeth Napper, PhD, Co-Director of the Tibetan Nuns Project

Geshe Ngawang Samten, Director and Vice Chancellor of the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies in Sarnath, Varanasi.

Geshe Lobsang Tenzin, PhD, President and Spiritual Director of Drepung Loseling Monastery, Inc. at Emory University and Director of the Emory-Tibet Partnership and the Emory-Tibet Science Initiative.

Alan Wallace, PhD, President of the Santa Barbara Institute for Consciousness Studies.
